Tokens of Appreciation Program 2026

Last year, we launched the Tokens of Appreciation program to recognize the builders pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with AI—teams and developers whose work is measured not just in tokens, but in real-world impact. We designed custom awards to celebrate our top API users with literal tokens as a symbol of our gratitude. In 2026, we’re bringing the program back as a continuation of the celebration of the people and companies shaping the future with our platform.  

Awards are based on total API token usage (all-time). Token awards are offered across three tier thresholds:

Please note, there is no application process for this program. We’ll offer awards to all parties that meet token thresholds. The cut off date for qualification is May 31, 2026. You will have to pass the tier milestones before this date in order to qualify for a 2026 award.

If you qualify, you’ll receive an email from us in August to redeem your token (token redemption is optional). If you choose to redeem, you’ll receive your token in September. The name on your OpenAI account will be reflected on your award.
