Product Marketing Manager, Cybersecurity
Marketing - San Francisco
About the Team
The Industry Marketing team helps OpenAI bring frontier AI to the industries where it can create meaningful, measurable impact. We work across Product, GTM, Communications, Partnerships, Policy, Security, and Research to translate model and product capabilities into industry narratives, field motions, customer proof, and launch programs that help enterprises adopt AI responsibly.
About the Role
As Product Marketing Manager, Cybersecurity, you will help define how OpenAI brings frontier AI to cyber defenders. This role sits at the center of Daybreak, OpenAI’s cybersecurity initiative to help defenders see risk earlier, act sooner, and build software that is resilient by design.
You will shape the market narrative, build the field-facing operating system, and coordinate cross-functional execution across product launches, customer proof, partner moments, events, and account-based campaigns. You will help senior security leaders understand how OpenAI models, Trusted Access for Cyber, Codex Security, and related workflows can support real defensive work.
We’re looking for a product marketer who combines strategic narrative, technical curiosity, enterprise go-to-market judgment, and program leadership. The right person can turn fast-moving capabilities into clear positioning, credible assets, and practical field execution.
In this role, you will:
Own positioning and messaging for OpenAI’s cybersecurity offering, including Daybreak, Trusted Access for Cyber, Codex Security, and related product surfaces.
Build field-ready assets for account directors, solutions engineers, security leaders, and executive audiences, including first-call decks, one-pagers, use-case libraries, customer stories, and proof-point packages.
Translate frontier model capabilities into simple, accurate, and defensible go-to-market language for senior enterprise buyers and security practitioners.
Partner with Product, Research, Security, Policy, Communications, Partnerships, and GTM to coordinate launches, claims, proof points, enablement, and customer-facing guidance.
Develop campaigns and activation programs spanning launches, blogs, webinars, roundtables, executive briefings, conferences, customer proof, and account-based motions
Turn customer deployments, vulnerability scans, and partner feedback into approved stories, evidence, ROI narratives, and repeatable industry use cases.
Serve as the connective tissue for the cybersecurity marketing workstream, keeping priorities, owners, launch readiness, open questions, and executive updates clear.
Maintain a high bar for accuracy, governance, customer trust, and responsible marketing in a sensitive and fast-moving category.
You might thrive in this role if you:
Have 7+ years of experience in product marketing, industry marketing, cybersecurity marketing, enterprise GTM, or an adjacent B2B technology role.
Have marketed technical enterprise products to security, developer, IT, risk, or C-suite audiences.
Can translate complex model, product, and security concepts into clear positioning, field assets, and customer-facing narratives.
Have strong cross-functional program leadership instincts and can drive work across Product, GTM, Communications, Partnerships, Policy, Security, and Research.
Use customer evidence, field signals, product usage, market research, and competitive context to sharpen strategy and prioritize work.
Have built GTM programs, operating rhythms, or new playbooks in ambiguous, high-velocity environments.
Bring strong writing, messaging, and editorial judgment, with a high bar for clarity, quality, accuracy, and credibility.
Are deeply curious about cybersecurity, AI, software development, enterprise adoption, and how new capabilities become meaningful customer value.
Think strategically about how industry marketing drives awareness, trust, pipeline, adoption, customer proof, and long-term market leadership.
Are highly collaborative and effective at influencing senior stakeholders, field teams, technical teams, and external partners.
Execute quickly while maintaining a high quality bar across messaging, launches, enablement, customer proof, and campaigns.
Have experience in cybersecurity areas such as application security, SecOps, cloud security, vulnerability management, detection and response, or secure software development.
Have experience with AI, developer tools, cloud infrastructure, API platforms, or enterprise software.
Have supported enterprise account-based marketing, executive events, customer stories, partner marketing, or field enablement.
Are familiar with CISOs, security practitioners, enterprise governance, procurement, and high-trust customer environments.
