視障人士如何運用 ChatGPT 探索世界及營辦非牟利機構

認識這兩兄弟，了解他們如何把共同面對視力受損的經歷，化為協助視障社群成員發展潛能的使命。

認識 Two Blind Brothers

Bradford 和 Bryan Manning 一直在適應一個在設計上未有顧及他們需要的世界。兩兄弟都患有 Stargardt 病。這種罕見的遺傳病令他們失去大部分中央視力，使穿過擠迫的街道、回覆電郵等日常事務變得困難得多。

但隨着時間過去，這項曾經令他們顯得與眾不同的挑戰，反而讓兩兄弟更加親近。共同面對視力受損的經歷，不但令他們建立深厚的手足情誼，也讓他們與其他視障人士建立緊密連繫，而這正是他們希望支援的社群。

2016 年 5 月，兩兄弟創立非牟利服裝公司 Two Blind Brothers，透過產品和平台提高公眾意識、支持失明研究，並為視障社群創造更多機會。

如今，ChatGPT 在這項使命中愈見重要，不但協助 Bradford 和 Bryan 更獨立地應對日常生活，也為他們營運和拓展 Two Blind Brothers 帶來新方法。

對兩兄弟而言，ChatGPT 已成為一種方法，讓他們把難以看清的資訊轉化為能用來採取行動的內容。

簡單如把鏡頭對準顯示器背面，再詢問應該使用哪個連接埠。Bradford 最近使用 ChatGPT Live，在數個外觀幾乎一樣的輸入插口中找出 DisplayPort；以往他通常要請妻子或朋友幫忙。

ChatGPT 也在他們外出時發揮作用。他們可透過語音詢問建築物的外觀、地標的位置，或如何從機場登機閘口前往網約車上車處。

在工作方面，同樣的無障礙功能亦正改變他們營運 Two Blind Brothers 的方式。以往，Bradford 要在螢幕上放大試算表、緊記行列位置，再逐格移動，才能找到一個數字。如今，他可請 ChatGPT 分析數據、找出異常，或指出哪裏看來有問題。他還會把這項工具連接至電郵，直接詢問哪些事項需要留意，無須再親自逐封查看。

他們愈來愈常使用 ChatGPT，不只用來擷取資訊，更用來推進工作。他們透過語音集思廣益和口述輸入、分析籌款數據，並為 Thrive Blind 製作簡報。這項計劃旨在讓視障社群的年輕人接觸培訓和就業機會。
